Overwatch - Concept Map

Shanghai is an Overwatch concept map created on Unreal Engine 4. I designed this map in less than 3 months during my free time.

This is an Hybrid map : 1 point to attack or defend & a payload to escort or stop through 2 other parts of the map.

For 6v6 players (2 teams : Attackers & Defenders ).

Overwatch doesn't have any level editor, that's why I call this map a "Concept Map".

I have no way to test it for the moment, but I tried to design this map to fit with all the rules and the characters of the game.

Different heights :

  • Give an advantage to the attackers after their Spawn

  • Give an advantage to the defenders near the Point

Cut lines of sight :

  • Use pannels to block the view

  • Prevent the flankers to be spotted too easily

ChokePoint.png

Choke Point :

  • Create a fight area

  • Create a good spot to defend next to the point

Zone - 2

Big Door :

  • Open to let the payload pass, then close itself

  • Separate the first & the second zone

  • Cut a huge line of sight

Flanks.png

Flank Routes :

  • Allow flankers to go behind the enemy team without being too exposed

  • Allow players to find Health-Packs

Heights & Second Choke :

  • Players can fight to own the bridge (giving a huge advantage)
  • Second Choke point to create another area of tension
